Monday, March 8, 2021 is International Women's Day...a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.
I have spoken much about my support and admiration of femininity values, especially in the black community. As I have shared in my Femininity Series blogs this summer, femininity and feminism both emphasize women's empowerment but in different ways. In both femininity and feminism, the goal is to create a space where women are seen as happier and are not second class citizens. Make sure this month you are educating yourself on both movements and values, to do your part in empowering women, especially the ones around you.
And do something today to bridge the gap in gender equality!
Be sure to show your support by supporting women owned businesses, speaking out against sexism and misogyny in your every day life, and empowering women around you! Make a woman's day today (compliment her, hold the door open, treat her to a cup of coffee). Use the hashtag #MakeHerDay if you do something this month for a woman in your life.
Catch up on my femininity series, let me know your thoughts on both femininity and feminism.
